Gemma was disqualified for a leg grab – now banned in judo to promote a more upright stance. She was fighting a really close contest but I fear she reverted to an old technique which she would have practiced many times over the years.

Things didn’t go much better for Euan either. I missed the action (was sorting out the next contestants) but he was thrown for Ippon (10 point score)

As we approach the quarter final stages for -81kg men and -63kg women, my feet are sending me clear messages about the pain.
