judouk Ippon???? When I first saw it and heard the referee announce ippon, I thought that was a bit generous. What I didn’t expect was for the referees to award the contest _against_ Joe We saw the replay and, from that angle, I’m still unclear how they called it. Will this be another controversy?
And a place in the final for Sam

judouk Another hard fight. Sam won this on penalties – his opponent really couldn’t touch him Several times, the contest went to the ground and the crowd longed for a strangle; it wasn’t to be though Finals are much later
A Korean too far

judouk That was an exceptionally difficult contest. After 5 minutes, Joe was beaten by a waza-ari but will come back later in the repechage

judouk Less than one minute and he catches his opponent, Dartanyon Crockett, for ippon This contest will be followed immediately by Joe’s second

judouk A bad day at the office. Both Marc and Dan lost their openers. Marc got a place in the repechage but, being a waza-ari up (due to penalties), lost to a big ippon-seoi-nage
